Carmel Apple Bars
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup old fashioned or quick cooking oats
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
4 1/2 cups baking apples, peeled and chopped
3 tablespoons flour
1 package of carmels 14oz
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
Preheat over to 400 degrees
In mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening and brown sugar until fluffy. Add flour,
oats, salt and baking soda. Mix well. Stir in pecans if desired. Set aside 2
cups. Press remaining mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 pan.
Filling: Toss apples with flour, spoon over crust. In a saucepan, melt the carmels
and butter over low heat. Drizzle over apples. Top with reserved oat mixture.
Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool before cutting into bars. By Julie Petermon
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup dark karo syrup ( I use light)
1 box crispix cereal
Any type of nuts you would like (I used Cashews)
Mix first 3 ingredients together, bring it to a rolling boil for 1 minute
Pour over cereal and mix. Put in oven for 1 hour at 250 degrees, stirring every 15 minutes
Mix in nuts and pour out on cookie sheet or wax pape Break up the

Fruit Salad
1 can chunk pineapple/drained-Save Juice
1 can mandarin oranges/drained
1 can tropical fruit medly or fruit cocktail
Take 1/2 cup of pineapple juice and 2 tbs cornstarch and bring to boil, cool, pour over fruit then chill.
Before serving add 1 cut apple and 1-2 bananas. *Note: can replace and or add with any fruit. By Mitzi
Strawberry Spinach Salad
1 Bag Spinach
pint strawberries sliced
small can mandarin oranges
2-3 kiwi sliced
bag shaved almonds
Dressing
2 T. lemon juice
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 T. white vinegar
1/4 tsp. poppy seed
1/2 cup sugar
Mix dressing well. Pour over salad just before serving and stir. By Karen
